Boys’ Soccer Faces Off Against Hawks as They Look to Start a Winning Streak
Langworthy Field saw action from boys soccer on Thursday afternoon, 1/11/18. They were up against the Silverado Hawks that are currently 4-5-2, and it was expected to be a challenge. It was a game for Aztecs to be proud of and hopefully a good starting point for the rest of the season.
As the first half began, there was equal amounts of possession, and the Aztecs defense held back Silverado from making a lead. Aztec goalie, Cesar Toledo, was phenomenal, blocking and stopping numerous goals, and practically carrying the team single handedly, during this first half. The team only let one goal by in the first half, and kept the game at a point where a win was possible.
Going in to the second half, there was the same level of momentum throughout the team. The Hawks scored once more, making the score 2-0. However, the Aztecs came back, scoring 2 more goals in the remainder of the game.
It was a good game, and something for this team to build off, as they look to improve their standings. Captain, Ryan Packer, described this game, as “the best we’ve played,” and that he was happy with it.
The boys will be playing Silverado for the last time, on January 30th at home. To find the full schedule, of any sport, visit the school website and click on the sports tab, or following this link:
