Young Drivers
All teens can agree one of the greatest feelings is getting your driver’s license. Being able to drive is honestly your first step into being an adult and stepping into the real world. Being able to drive yourself anywhere and being able to go anywhere whenever is a great feeling. Although driving is fun and all, teens need to realize that driving takes a lot of responsibility and you can’t fool around while doing so. Most teens feel a huge sense of power when they get their license, however, you have to realize there are rules to follow, signs to look out for, crazy drivers on their phones, etc. For those teens who drive, realize that 6 teens on the daily average die of car accidents. Yes driving is fun, especially when you’re young and have friends in the car listening to music with the windows down, but also realize that you are in control of driving and not only does your life matter, but so do those on the road. As teens, we are on our phones a lot. That text back or that tweet or that phone call can wait, it’s not so important that you can’t wait until you’re done driving. If you’re that kind of person that “NEEDS” their phone with them at all times, lock it in the glove compartment. Once you get in that car, you need to be focused on driving and driving only.
Another dangerous things teens do is to drive without a license. Yeah it’s fun and makes you “look cool” but if you get caught, you won’t be able to get your license until you’re 21! Yes, you need to get practice in order to drive, but that should be with a parent , you shouldn’t be taking your car out for a joy ride. Also, it’s dangerous for your safety because you don’t know any of the rules of the road. Basically, the number one rule of the road is to be safe!
