Could You Have a Case of Senioritis?
Attention to my fellow seniors, do you have Senioritis? Do you even know what Senioritis is? Well let me spread light on this epidemic that every high schooler is bound to be caught up in. Senioritis is what mainly every senior gets entering semester 2 and if you’re a junior, you probably already have the mild case of it. Some seniors may have had Senioritis in the beginning of August and I know it can be difficult to persevere through the rest of the school year. It’s pretty easy to
self-diagnose, but let me remind you of some symptoms of this draining disease:
Waking up in the morning itself is a challenge
You stop caring about assignments
You procrastinate more than usual
“I don't care” is your response to literally everything
Cramming is your new skill
STRESS
You slack off in class...or don't even bother to show up
And etc.
If you still aren't sure if you have Senioritis just think, have you ever said, “The semester's almost over, I don't have to do this”, “I don't care I’m still graduating”, “Why are we even learning this?”, then yes. You have Senioritis and it’s okay, just follow these helpful tips and you’ll reach that graduation day in no time:
Give your body 8 hours of sleep, you’ll thank yourself later
Time management is key
Invest in a planner and write in it daily
Remember that your grades still matter
Get involved, join a sport, hang out, meet new friends, HAVE FUN!
And relax class of 2018...May 31st is almost here
Now that you know a little more on this contagious disease, it’s best if we all try to avoid it for the remainder of the school year. Senioritis is mainly for seniors, but most juniors get it before summer even begins, so I suggest refreshing your mind every so often with those helpful tips and get rid of the bad habits from the start. High school is a big milestone in our teen lives and our goal is that diploma. Make every day count, but take it one day at a time and always remember: no, extra credit cannot bump your D- to an A+.
