“Interview with Melody “

  • How do you feel being one of the first “student spotlight “ students?

  • "Honestly, I am grateful, not only that I, but other students are being sought out for the role they play as an Aztec with PRIDE “

  • What are some traits that you have, that you think everyone should have?

  • “For me, being positive is the best trait not just for a student, but every person should have. You have to have a different outlook on life and never put people down. You always have to see the best in things and in the end everything will work out for you and others. Plus, nobody truly wants to be a bully. “

  • What’s one thing that keeps you going each day?

  • “Sometimes, I won’t lie, it gets to be too much to the point to where I just can’t function. But the reason I wake up every morning to the busy days that I have, is I know that it will pay off. All the stress. All the pressure. It will soon pay off! ”

  • What is your favorite subject in school?

  • “That's a tough decision! I enjoy my math class, because it is challenging and I love a good challenge, plus my teacher Dr.Esperanza makes it entertaining and interesting in a way that I enjoy. Yet I enjoy my English class as well, because it makes you think about certain things with a different perspective. My other favorite class is Audio Visual ( T.v. Video ) class, because as we air episodes to the students, it allows me to reach out and connect with them! ”

  • What’s your daily routine to being successful?

  • “Yikes! I’m quite scattered myself! Yet I wake up ready prepared for the day, but once school starts and I see my friends and they make me laugh. To me staying happy is a NEED to being successful, because if you are unhappy, nothing feel worth it. Throughout the day I plan and prepared myself for the thing I need to handle and take care of! ”

  • What’s one thing you can’t go a day without?

  • "Laughing. I would not be myself if I don’t truly have a good laugh. It lifts my spirits and puts me in a good mood all day. Rarely I have had days where I don’t truly laugh and I feel miserable, so I think that without truly enjoying at least one moment, my whole day will be set off. ”

  • Are there times where you feel like giving up? How do you power through it?

  • “Yes. Quite often I feel like giving up, like quitting. I ask, will it truly be worth it? Why waste my life stressing when I could be goofing off having fun? Well, I have to believe that it’s worth it. I am naturally a very dedicated person and I owe it to my family and friends for pushing me and believing in me. I would hate to let them down, but I also can’t let myself down! I believe in bigger and better things and I know I will go place in the world! “

  • What’s one thing that inspires you?

  • "The world inspires me. There are so many places, and each place has it own different story. My mother, who has traveled and told me about her stories, has always made me want to know more. Also my mother is a very strong women who is one of my greatest role models and she inspires me to be great like her! “

  • Do you want to be like a famous person? Why?

  • “No I wouldn’t. I aspire to be myself, the best version of me that I can be! Sure famous people are great, but I will have different obstacles and different triumph then them. Also, who would I be if I wanted to be someone else? I am me! And there is no changing that! “

  • What’s one quote you go by everyday?

  • “There are several! But one I have always valued since I was younger is “ Be the change you want to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi. This quote is like asking yourself” what is your purpose?”, and I know I am here to make a difference, even if it’s not a big one! Yet any impact I can make on even one person, lets me now my purpose!”
