Let's Talk Prom

It’s prom season, and many are very excited. Those people being Seniors and Juniors, of course, since they are the only students allowed to go. Despite many being excited, there are those who have a problem with it.

It’s supposed to be a great time to enjoy being around your friends, just to dress up and have fun. It’s great to see the excitement that so many people have shown. They just can’t wait to have the time of their lives. Seniors just want to celebrate their final dance without having to deal with stress.

While many are excited, people have a way of bringing it down. I’ve heard many Juniors and Seniors complain about prom. Like the location, transportation, costs, and rules. To those people: there’s something wrong with almost everything. There was so much complaining from the students that for a while, it seemed as if the teachers were more excited for prom.

Location, “I guess it’s okay, but it would be better at Harvey House.” Transportation, when it’s a school bus, they want a charter bus, when it’s a charter bus it’s not comfortable enough. Costs, it’s too expensive. Rules, they’re too strict.

No matter where the prom is at or how the students get there, it will never be good enough. The cost involves much more than just being able to go to school. You have to realize that you are paying for everything, like the transportation to and from the dance, food, and everything else at prom. And yes there are rules in every school and every prom as it’s the school’s responsibility to take care of a bunch of kids who think they are already adults.

Don’t be such a downer when it comes to prom. Just try to have a fun time. Have a great night, and be safe.
