Apparently Not to Walk

In our previous edition on the previous walkout, the question to answer was ‘would and/or did you walk’ on March 14th. On Friday, April twentieth, or 420 as most know it, we got our answer. For most, that answer was no.

It was a little known fact that the day was allotted as a walkout date, not as a chance to break school rules and get a quick high, but instead to remember and to celebrate the lives of the students that lost their lives on April 20th of 1999.

Another fact that needs to be known is that these kids are not participating in walkouts just to get out of class, or just to be rebellious or look cool, or to support the government taking people’s guns. They are supporting the idea of keeping students alive when they go to school to get an education, not to obtain a bullet. They’re supporting life, and the freedom of school, and simply having control on people who should not be able to get their hands on war weapons nearly as easily as they do.

So next time you think that a walkout that is supposed to produce a positive result for the future of America, and the world even, maybe try thinking about the people who are actually being affected, not your guns and whether or not they are put to use. Just a thought.
