Student Spotlight- Mason Soberg
Mason Isaac Soberg is a 16 year old Junior attending Barstow High School. He’s lived in Barstow for roughly 13 years. Before he started living in Barstow, his parents moved a lot trying to find a stable home. At the age of 5 his parents got a divorce and he has lived with his dad in Barstow for the main parts of his life. Ever since he was young, first attending Skyline North Elementary, he was bullied a lot. Granted, he was a bigger kid during the time, he was pushed around and treated like nothing. Then, after the fourth grade, his parents decided to send him to Riverside Prep. For his 5-7th grades. During that timeframe, he became a really bad kid; he was lying, stealing from other kids, and was just being bad. But, when he decided to go to S.T.E.M. Academy for his 8th grade year (when it first opened), he changed greatly. He realized he had to be a better kid, that he was a part of something bigger. Ever since then, he has cleaned his act up and has been doing the best he can to avoid things like drama and other distractions. At the moment, he attends middle college during high school hours, and does the Aztec Productions/Aztec Nation with help of the whole class coming together.
