Track and Field

The track team is going into DSL this week! For those who are not aware, DSL stands for Desert Sky League. This is the finals for track, only the best of the league. They all compete for a time to qualify to move on, into the CIF playoff rounds! There are multiple athletes from BHS that will be competing next Thursday. They range from Freshman to Seniors, competing in many different events. There are field events, such as Triple Jump, High Jump, Long Jump, Discus, and Shotput. There are also, of course, track events. These are split into three sections: short distance (sprinters), mid distance (its in the middle of sprinting and running miles). Finally, there is long distance, which, yes, is long.

They have spent this past week preparing for this competition. Another cool thing that has happened last week, was a Junior High track meet. Kids from different middle schools came to BHS on Friday and ran in their own track meet. Some of the high school team was there also.
