New York University

NYU is a great school to attend if you are looking to go to school away from home and live in a big city. NYU is a urban, private research university in Greenwich Village, along with other campuses throughout New York City. NYU was established by Albert Gallatin, the former Secretary of Treasury under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, in 1831. It became one of Americaś largest universities in 1917. In 2018, NYU was ranked one of the top 30 universities.

NYU has multiple academic colleges that a person can choose from to attend, such as the College of Arts and Science, the College of Global Public Health, and the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. The College of Arts and Science is NYU’s largest academic division, containing 3 subdivisions. With all the different colleges within NYU to choose from, someone wouldn’t have much of a problem with not being able to attend a college for whatever they would like to study.

Like many other private and popular universities, the admission at NYU is highly selective. The acceptance rate of NYU is about 32% ; back in 2016, the acceptance rate for NYU’s School of Medicine was 1.8%. The average GPA that a person will need to be accepted into NYU is about 3.7, and the average SAT score to be accepted into NYU is 2170. This may seem a bit tough to achieve, but with hard work and determination, you can reach these goals if you want to go to NYU.
