Washington State University
Washington State University is a public research university located in Pullman, Washington. WSU was founded on March 28, 1890 by the Washington Legislature. The university has multiple academic programs and offers over 200 fields of study. It also has a very popular athletics program.
WSU has 11 research colleges, which include: Resource Sciences, Agriculture, Human, & Natural, Arts & Sciences, Business, Communication, Education, Engineering & Agriculture, Honors, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. Agriculture is the root of research and scholarships at WSU. WSU is also quite popular for their libraries; the three major locations of these libraries are on the Pullman Campus, which are the libraries of Animal Health, Holland/Terrell, and Owen Science & Engineering.
Athletics are also significant to WSU. Some of the most popular sports are men & women’s basketball, cross country, and track & field. The university also offers some recreational sports, such as bowling, ice hockey, taekwondo, and water polo. The school’s mascot is known as Butch T. Cougar and their colors are crimson and gray.
The average GPA to get into WSU is between 3.3-4.0 As for ACT and SAT scores, the average for the ACT is 23 and the average for the SAT is 460-580 in reading & writing and 470-585 in math. WSU’s acceptance rate is about 79.6% and their graduation rate is about 67%.
