As I am writing this the Amazon Rainforest is still set ablaze. They have yet to be put out yet. There a few things that people are blaming the fires on some say that they are started by humans and others are saying they are being caused by dry weather and heat.
Most of the fires started in the Amazon Rainforest were started by cattle farmers. They would start the fires to clear land for their cattle to graze in. Things like this has always been happening but before if you were caught starting the fires you would be fined. The president of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro had cut the budgeting for these tickets to be cited and issued so with less people being fined for it more of the farmers had started and continued to do it. Some employees of Brazil’s main environment agency Ibama had said that it has been harder to help the environment because of budget cuts, lack of staff, political interference, and a weakening of environmental regulations.
This year’s dry season in the Amazon has been worse than the others. The dry season lasts from August to November. With the forest being so dry it makes everything more flammable than it would be during the dry season. With cut funding it makes it harder for the fires to be put out. The fires have been making
