Trump’s phone call with Zelensky
Democrats have made up their minds to impeach Trump, but if they do, they will be calling Zelensky a liar. Zelensky commented that he didn’t feel pressured by Trump which showed that there was no quid pro quo. Zelensky told reporters that nobody pushed him to open the investigations requested by Trump, he opened it on his own. On July 26th, there was a phone call between President Trump and Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, where they discussed investigations Trump wanted Ukraine to pursue. Trump asked Ukranian president volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden’s son. Biden was part of the alleged Ukranian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
President Trump has denied that he had a phone call with Ambassador to the Europen Union Gordon Sondland, in which he allegedly asked the ambassador about whether Ukraine would proceed with investigations. The eight witnesses that are scheduled to testify in public hearings next week are Jennifer Williams, which is an aide to Mike Pence who was on the July 25th Trump-Zelensky phone call. Alexander Vindman, National Security Council aide who listened to the July 25th call, he also notified superiors twice about his concerns about it.
