Teacher Spotlight: Mrs.Gilmore

Mrs Gilmore is one of our amazing art teachers here at Barstow High School . She is a good candidate for teacher spotlight because she’s an amazing teacher and is very dedicated to her work . She also cares very much about our school and students. So now let’s learn more about her !!

Question : Where are you from ?

Answer : Well, Barstow, San Diego and Texas

Question : What classes do you teach ?

Answer : Drama , art , senior art , drawing and painting , and all of those but advanced versions.

Questions : What college did you attend ?

Answer : Barstow Community College then to Cal San Bernardino Chapman

Question : How long have you been teacher for and also at Barstow ?

Answer : 15 years and all 15 years here at Barstow high

Question : What made you want to teach ?

Answer : Originally was a costume design teacher then fell into love with art , I was just a natural born teacher

Question : Favorite and least favorite thing about teaching ?

Answer : The students are my favorite thing and discipline is my least favorite thing

Question : Favorite things about art in 5 words ?

Answer : Incredible , diverse, creative and ideas

Question : One advice to kids who want to teach ?

Answer : Have a passion for your subject

Question : One common mistake all students make ?

Answer : Procrastination, not hubo enough time on themselves

Question : Favorite food , music genre , holiday , and favorite artwork

Answer : eggplant Parmesan , all types of music , Christmas, and anything Salvador Dali
