The Legend of Kobe Bryant
On January 26, 2020 Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash along with his 13 year old daughter Gianna Bryant, and 6 others. This week has been miserable knowing that an inspiring person to thousands has left this earth. Kobe has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years as number 8 and number 24. Kobe Bryant was an 18 time all star and known for his massive scoring ability. Even though Kobe Bryant was one of the most talented basketball players in the NBA, he also was a family man. Kobe left behind his wife Vanessa Bryant and his now 3 daughters, Natalia Bryant, Bianka Bryant, and Capri Bryant. He would always make time for his girls even when he had to travel and play games throughout the U.S. Kobe Bryant’s last game was in 2016 and his family was right by his side cheering him on. Kobe was a caring man and loved the sport of basketball. His love for it was so strong that his 13 year old daughter Gianna Bryant, wanted to carry on his legacy. According to Kobe, Gianna was more talented than he was at 13. He was a coach for her team at Mamba Sports Academy. Gianna’s dream was to go to the University of Connecticut and go into the WNBA. Kobe Bryant was not only a good basketball player, but he cared about the community all around him. He set an example for others and everyone loved him. The day he passed away was a shock to all. Now you may be wondering, this is a “Social Issue” article so why are you talking about the passing of Kobe Bryant? Well this did affect everyone as a whole. Everytime an individual would go on social media and see the tragedy of Kobe Bryant, moods instantly changed. Although we wish this tragedy never happened, this did bring people closer together because of the love they had for Kobe. And everyday we will remember the Legend, of Kobe Bryant.
