Poem
Critical Analysis By : Imahre Paopao
Hope is that you will carry
Hope is that will to carry on
When you are down and out in life
Hope is that flame that burns
When there is darkness all around
Hope is that smile, which brightens,
Even a dull day in your life
Hope is that dream which you can fulfill
When you are ready to strive
Hope is that freedom when you are caged
That you will find a way in life
So do not lose hope in life
As that is the only way to life
Just keep your hope alive!
When hearing the word “October” the thing that comes to most peoples’ minds is Halloween, or candy! This poem is in honor of all the breast cancer patients. October is a breast cancer awareness month and this poem just really captures how the family and patients feel when they have this battle going on. As you can tell, this poem is about having hope. Hope that everything will be okay in the end. Hope that nothing bad happens. Hope that they will get through this. Like it says in the poem, “Hope is that flame that burns.” It’s like you have a light under you and when there’s a problem occuring or a situation that you don’t know you can’t get through, that is where the hope comes in. It lights you up and makes you hope for something that can’t be seen. Any cancer is very bad. Having that hope though can make the patient feel more hopeful and that could help them with the battle they are going through. It’s a light that fires you up to keep on fighting until you can’t anymore. To fight for your loved ones, and your life. When it is dark, hope is there. When you’re feeling low, hope is there. When things aren’t necessarily going your way, hope is there. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve hit rock bottom, just have some hope and a little bit of courage to keep on fighting. The only way to go from there is up!
