College Spotlight Santa Clara University

Santa Clara University is located in Camino Real, Santa Clara and was founded in 1851. Santa Clara was built on the site of the Mission Santa Clara de Asís. Originally Santa Clara University was a preparatory school then in 1912 after the first 60 years of the school being open it became a University. Santa Clara University became the first coeducational Catholic University after 110 years of being an all-male school.
Now Santa Clara University growth has led it to be the largest building program in history. This school promotes an entrepreneurship mindset as well as pursuing new technology, engaging with the community, and they encourage creativity among students. This University has over 100 students organized programs among the campus. Santa Clara University recently top-ranked regional university in the Western United States.
Santa Clara University has a total of 17 sports programs and competes in 20 Division I Sports. The university has a history of excellent players who have become All-Americans, Olympians, and World Cup Champions. Over 3,800 students have participated in one of the university's sports.
