Cyberbullying

A current social issue teens in this day in age are going through is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is the use of electronics to bully someone or threatening them. The most common places for one person to cyberbully another is either on social media such as snapchat, instagram, twitter, or if it is really intense and very personal they can find their phone number and either call or text them. Even bullying someone on any social media platform is so crucial because anyone can see it. Unless, of course, the bully makes anonymous messages so they don't have to deal with the consequences. Most of the time cyberbullying will include photos and or messages talking about someone's race, physical appearance , or sexual orientation. With that when being cyberbullied it can cause depression and anxiety. You can always walk away, tell an adult, or refuse to respond. Bullies use social media as a way to talk down on someone without saying it face to face. They basically do it to embarrass people, to make themselves look better, maybe to get a laugh out of it with their friends. Sometimes they are being bullied themselves and try to cover it up by bullying someone else. Personally, I think people use too much of their energy bullying others, were supposed to be helping one another not putting each other down. If your ever being bullied or you see someone getting bullied, tell anyone or someone who can make a change.
