Student Spotlight

By: Kayden Hoskins

Kylee Simpson is a student here at Barstow High School. I chose Kylee for student spotlight because I feel students academically do not get noticed as much. So I thought I would do an interview and see more into what she does on a day to day basis.  Kylee Simpson is in 11th grade and is a Middle College student as well. She stated that it shows you what college is really like and opens your mind to new things. While doing Middle College, Kylee is also a competitive dancer at Motion Dance Center and has been dancing for 10 years. She wants a successful career after pursuing college and possibly teach at a dance studio.  Even though Middle College sounds overwhelming and difficult, she does recommend it. She states that “It’s a good head start for college and also helps you with your high school classes”. Not only does she dance almost 4 hours a day mostly, Middle College, and attends our High School, she takes three AP classes. Kylee also recommends AP classes but she also thinks if you capable because it can be stressful at times. Kylee is now a Junior and her mind set for this year is to stay focused and have good grades.  Also manage her extracurriculars well. She hopes Junior year will be her best year yet.
