Student Spotlight
By: Antonio Ili
The student spotlight for this week is Victoria Light. Victoria is a hardworking, independent, and very bright BHS student. She does so well to balance her academic life and life after school. Victoria is a senior here at BHS and has attended BHS for so far all four years of her high school career. Victoria has lived in Barstow for her whole life. She lives with her two parents and has four siblings but only lives with two. Her favorite part about BHS is lunch because she gets to interact with her friends. From freshman year to now, Victoria said that she would change some of the friends that she used to hang out with because they had a bad influence on her and her life. In her spare time, Victoria likes to draw and paint to express herself. Victoria plays clarinet, is apart of the BHS marching band and has been in band for five years.Victoria is first chair and also is a section leader for our school’s marching band.
What makes her unique is “ the strength in her heart”. Victoria’s favorite subject is English. Her main goals are to keep good grades and graduate from high school. Victoria says that after leaving BHS she “ will miss some of the people she sees on an everyday basis”. After high school, Victoria plans to attend a cosmetology school and major in nail care and acrylics. In the future she plans to own her own nail shop and become a nail tech. The thing that motivates Victoria to accomplish these goals is when people doubt her.
