University of Oregon

Ready, Set, Duck! The University of Oregon is a Public School, located in Eugene, Oregon and was founded in 1876. The mascot for this school is a Duck. how cool! This is a ‘larger’ school being 295 acres, with 20,980 students. There are 19,351 of total undergraduate, 4,203 of those students are first-year and there are also 3,629 students that go as graduates. This is a very diverse school with many different students, from many different ethical and/or cultural backgrounds, plus many different countries, 12% of the students are international! The acceptance here is moderately competitive with a 78% acceptance rate. This University is some-what fare with the average cost of aid, 15k for in-state and 48k for out-of-state. The typical test scores that were expected in 2016-2018, were the  SAT: 1195 and the ACT Composite: 22 - 28, more than 50% of the students had scores within this range. The University has nine colleges & schools with 67 majors and 80 minors, in many different subjects. Do you want to study in Marine Biology? There are major for that! In fact Its #3 on the Top 10 Colleges for Marine Biology Article by CollegeMagazine.com. Do you want to study in Cinema Studies? What about Creative Writing? Dance? Chemistry? Environmental Science/Studies? Geography? Journalism? Law? Or even An International study such as Greece, Japan, or Italy, along with the languages? The University of Oregon has it. More than 73% of the students are engaged in research activities. So many different kinds of activities too. In one of the activities  in the Environmental humanities course, they are going to ̈Convey your vision or the future of Mount Hood National Forest through a written public testimony with a 15 second Instagram video.” Sounds fun right? The University of Oregon is not just all work and no play in fact they even go by a motto. 

Learn Hard. Play Hard.  The Ducks on The 30 Most Successful College Sports Programs of All Time, ranked #9! They have 7 different Division 1 sports for males and 11 for females! But if you want to get into more of a club for sports, you could probably find just your fit. They have 36 clubs and intramural sports on campus, just about anything from Ice Hockey to Suba and even Sailing! Oh and don't forget about Juggling… if you're into that kind of thing. 

If your not someone who plays very many or any sports instead you'd like to join a club/organization to suit your major don't worry, The University of Oregon has 250+ clubs on campus, I just about guarantee you'll find something there. Or even if you're, not a club or sporty person instead you'd like to join a fraternity or sorority group but you're unsure if that's even a thing there at the University of Oregon, it is very much still a thing there are 3,572 students apart of different groups. 

Other than all of the fun outside of work possibilities that you can have what about all the learning possibilities? Yeah, they have many different majors and minors and yeah, they seem to have cool projects but what else? The University of Oregon has a Study Aboard opportunity that should be taken for granted! You have the option to study in 90 different countries to choose from. You can do Media in Ghana, Art History in London, Wine Marketing in Siena, Landscaping and Heritage in China, Architecture in Rome, the list goes on.   

This honestly seems like a great school to attend, I personally want to attend this school for its MultiMedia Journalism course, and this course isn't even on or near the main campus, it's about 2 hours away. Its located in Portland, Oregon! How cool, some of the programs such as the Architecture Masters Program or Sports Product Design Masters are in Portland. This Particular campus isn't large at all… that's even if you want to call it a campus. Its only 2 buildings the main building is on Couch Street, the yellow building under the large Portland sign. 

This is where I would love to go to school, I hope you enjoy reading about it as much as I do.
