Where’s all The Trees?

By Isabella Rodriguez

An environmental issue we have currently is deforestation, which is a removal of forests or a stand of trees. Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet. We lose over 18.7 million acres of forest regularly , equivalent to 27 soccer fields every minute. Without rainforest it causes a threat to water, people , animals and business who depend on healthy forest. ̈Deforestation can happen quickly, such as if there was a fire.¨ Over 2 billion depend on forest and the reason for that is because they absorb not only the carbon dioxide that we inhale but also greenhouse gases. Also, another reason we depend on forest is so we provide a place for animals to live and livelihoods for humans. 300 million people live in the forest and we have lost 128 million forest, so where are all these people going after basically their house is gone? Where are others going to if we got rid of all forests? What can we do to help the deforestation? Main thing DO NOT BURN FIREWOOD EXCESSIVELY, the first thing that pops into people's minds when we think of loss of the forest or trees is because of the  fires we have had recently. We need forest and the trees so, therefore we need to keep the earth a cleaner place and be careful when were playing around with fire.
